Colour Theory inspired by Mark Rothko
Interpreting colours
Students will be introduced to how colours are used in medical fields and restaurant businesses by class discussion. Discussions will include clothing of doctors and why McDonald's uses red and yellow.
Students will be asked to write down 5 emotions on a white piece of paper. They will then share their emotions so that a large list can be created and used as a word bank.
Students will be challenged to use soft pastels to create their interpretations of the emotions using colour. They will have the option of using 3-4 colours. The examples will simply be marks next to each other.
